Dr. Raj Chowdary's ability to listen carefully
to patients' desires and concerns and his attention to detail makes
him a superior plastic surgeon. His extensive training and years
of experience positions him to be one of the premiere cosmetic surgeons
in the Lehigh Valley.
Dr. Raj Chowdary graduated from Andhra Medical College in India.
He completed residencies in both general surgery and plastic surgery
at various hospitals in India, England and the United States. During
his training, he was taught by excellent world renowned surgeons.
Dr. Raj Chowdary now teaches residents in plastic surgery at the
Lehigh Valley Hospital and he is a Clinical Associate Professor
at Penn State Medical School.
After completing his plastic surgery residency at the prestigious
Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, Dr. Raj Chowdary
moved to Allentown with his family and has been practicing here
since 1985. He is a partner in the Allentown Center for Plastic
Surgery. He is happily married and has two grown up and well settled
children. His hobbies include traveling and golf. The Chowdary family
is actively involved in many community and charitable organizations.
Dr. Raj Chowdary travels around the world to provide pro bono services
to poor children and adolescents who need plastic surgery for various
congenital and acquired deformities. Once a year, he leads Healing
the Children teams to Third World countries to provide this service.
So far he has participated in 14 such missions in 9 different countries
in Southeast Asia, Central America and Africa.
